In Virginia City, NV, the largest Historic Preservation site in the National Park Service, Armac Construction is proud to restore Taylor Street after it suffered damage from heavy rainfall, snowmelt, and ice damming. The project involves backfilling the site with 450 cubic yards of type II aggregate base to stabilize the roadway and improve drainage, while carefully preserving the adjacent ruins of a historic building. A concrete curb and gutter will be added to manage water flow, and a steel fence will enclose the area to prevent pedestrian access.
Additionally, the existing boardwalk will be removed, the void beneath filled to support the rubble stone wall on C Street, and then the boardwalk will be replaced, ensuring the preservation and safety of this historic roadway.
